An artist with the classical education, Igor Mikhailenko has been recently experimenting with abstraction. He compares non-figurative painting with photography, as nowadays it is available to everyone both for creation and for perception — at least on intuitive, sensory level. The artist compares his own painting with music, advising to “listen” to it and to pay attention to the emotions that arise. “In room” is a visual labyrinth constructed of the layering and the collision of clear geometric shapes and textured colorful spots — in the space that tries to resolve into an architectural one, but constantly fails.
