Ivan Dubyaga is a Krasnodar artist who also makes electronic noise and experimental music. In his works, he attempts to aesthetically interpret the mad and aggressive world. Deliberately minimalistic and rough composition and texture grab the audience with the soft color combinations present in Ivan’s works. The artist transfers tough everyday situations into primitive paintings with an emotional and ironic flavor. Ivan has participated in exhibitions in Typography, Garlstorfer kunstfest (Garlstorf, 2016), Open Gallery (Moscow), Underdog gallery (Hamburg, 2016). The work resembles a storyboard for a film about the artist’s favorite character — a lonely traumatized man. The sketchiness and conventionality of the work emphasize the similarity of the motive, style, and various themes to the other works of this author. However, the overall melancholy of the narrative, which manifests itself in both the color palette and the stabilized composition, neutralizes nervousness and anguish and even gives confidence about the positive future of the character.
