The artistic practice of Sad Face is characterized by the use of recognizable classical images. We witness an iconographic image of Christ the Savior. His right hand is folded in a blessing gesture; the left hand holds a book, the pages of which are “laughing”. According to the rules, there should be a text of Scripture, but its place takes a monotonous stream of repeating letters pouring onto the viewer. The sad face is framed by a halo from the TV screensaver: the divine power in this new icon has been replaced by the light of the screen.
