The main focus of the “Hotpoint” composition is a refrigerator, which is shaped like a skyscraper from a James Ballard novel. The space around is filled with the visual and textual cipher: words and pictures collide and get inverted; a change in the view perspective reveals new meanings and interpretations. Adding features of a dystopian building to a household object and literally flooding the viewers with meaning streams, Kitakima creates a vivid commentary on the mental states of our time.
