Igor Mikhailenko is a Krasnodar artist, painter. In his works, he turns to abstract expressionism. His works are in the collections of the Kovalenko Krasnodar Art Museum, Krasnodar Regional Exhibition Hall, Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art (St. Petersburg), as well as in private collections in Russia, the United States, Israel, Lebanon, and Germany. Texture, which most obviously shows in expressionism, was a significant element of the artist’s previous works. Moreover, canvas texture was both an effect and a technique. His works of 2020 listed at the auction exhibit a different approach. The canvas presents iridescent shapes with perfectly smooth surfaces and a distinct rhythm. The double-level composition is organized in accordance with the rules of symmetry and spatiality.
