Lyudmila Baronina is a Krasnodar artist. She was born in Szczecin, Poland; currently lives and works in Moscow. She’s an established participant of MOST auction; her works have been exhibited in the Red Hall of the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art (2015), Artis Gallery of the Winzavod (2017), the Foundation of Vladimir Smirnov and Konstantine Sorokin (2017), OVCHARENKO Gallery, Winzavod (2018). The works presented at the auction were exhibited in the parallel program Art Basel 2019. Every new exhibition shows the evolution of the artist’s style, but one thing remains unaltered – her desire for ordering and alignment of disparate elements and construction of a new, alternative system.L This work looks like a banknote, but this is the only thing that signifies its relation to economic materialism – we know neither the denomination of the banknote, nor the emitting bank. In the center, there is Edouard Manet’s In the Conservatory. Framed with a floral ornament, a married couple is absorbed in the biosystem of signs and symbols, while the tightly lined paper space as if confines the complicated messages of the author to prevent them from spilling.
