Yekaterina Muromtseva is a Moscow artist. She graduated from the Rodchenko Art School, has attended Free Workshops in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. Her works have been listed on VLADEY auction. Yekaterina works with political, social, and philosophical themes. The auction lists two abstract watercolor paintings that became the preparatory material for the Dear Audience... exhibition. The project was initiated by the Garage Museum that studied its audience by means of sociological surveys and guest books and decided to attract the artist to the interpretation of the results. The artist presented a ‘total’ installation that included the prototypes of the museum’s audience in the Garage museum. She identified a few types of visitors and embodied them into a finished physical shape. They appear as wooden idols that have abandoned their individual features and kept only a convention. The artist worked with simple shapes and pure local colors. This representative sketch, even a sketch of a sketch, bears the imprint of anthropomorphic semantics; colorful planes tend to displace the paper surface voids.
