IIvan Seryi was born in 1991 in Nizhny Novgorod. Since 2006, he has specialized in graffiti, stencils and other techniques. Over the last years, he has experimented with sculpture, painting and graphics, combining various techniques and materials, from typical canvases and acrylics to aerosols and plasticine. Ivan Seryi is an artist with a street past: close to subcultures and suburbs, aesthetics from “the neighborhood” and behind garages. The “Suburbs” series, which includes “The Swiss lighter”, is all about the symbols and attributes of street life in the 90s.
