Aleksandr Dashevskii was born in 1980 in Leningrad and studied at the Department of Art History at the Repin Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Since 2005, he has been a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia. He works with different media, but is known primarily as a painter. His works are in the collections of the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and in private collections across Russia, the USA, Germany, England, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Israel. This work by Aleksandr Dashevskii is a contrasting graphic miniature: the silhouette of a girl walking up a dazzling white staircase towards the brilliant blue distance. The plot of the work is extremely ironic, telling the story of an imaginary future: the girl is the Minister of Contemporary Art of the Russian Federation, and in the distant blue is the Aleksandr Dashevskii Museum and Reserve on the bank of the Volga River.
