Born in 1977 in Krasnodar, Lupanov graduated from the Mural Department of the Academy of Arts and Industry of Krasnodar State University of Culture and Arts. He specializes in painting, creating portraits and sketches in an easy, impressionist manner. “Inside the delicatessen shop” is a composition reminiscent of the works of French impressionists or masters of the “School of Paris” — whether the “A Bar at the Folies-Bergere” by Edouard Manet or the nervous portraits of Chaim Soutine. A portrait of a bored guest and a background, filled with everyday details, seems to blur in his daydream — only the bright red ties of the two cooks serving as a guidemark, indicating the ironic and everyday themes of this piece.
