The ornament on each of the four plates in the set of “Wild Food” appeals to our fears. The barbed wire symbolizes both prison and foreign territory, strictly forbidden to enter. At the same time, the plates allude to another project of Pasmur Rachuiko in which the artist plays the role of naturalist — not only knowing everything about the plants growing from the forest and into roadside hedgerows, but can also make a full meal out of them.
