Vladimir Kukhar was born in 1979 in the Dnipropetrovsk Region. He graduated in 2002 in graphic art from Kuban State University, majoring in Old Russian painting. His preferred medium is paint, especially for the purpose of painting temples. “Mirror” is not a typical piece for Vladimir Kukhar, who is known primarily for subtle metaphysical landscapes in gray tones, making this work all the more interesting. Here he uses only three colors: absorbing red, contoured black and pale green. Extremely simple with fine details almost absent–intentionally moving away from more intricate drawing–Vladimir Kuhar creates a vivid image of nudity, as if ashamed to focus on the beauty of the naked form.
