With the help of traditional graphics, the artist achieves a cinematic effect. Churkin blurs the city landscape, addling clear lines only to a car moving on the road. That is the way he sets up the viewer’s optics, so the eye involuntarily slides towards the vehicle. Two observation modes merge: a sense of speed is reveled through image of a moving object and the world passing by outside of its window.
