Yulia Malinina was born in the Moscow Region, and now lives and works in Moscow. In 2015, she was nominated for the Kandinsky Prize as the Project of the Year. A participant of Cosmoscow 2017, she has also exhibited her works in Omelchenko Gallery, Triumph Gallery, and Winzavod. Her works are characterized by clear rhythms, distinct silhouettes, and large color patches. Color harmony in this painting is marked by particular fineness — the clash of the red, orange, and gray, almost monochrome, planes makes this work look minimalistic. Detachment and seclusion are expressed in the frozen time, complete lack of movement despite the presence of the horizontal rhythm. Quite a modern elevator building is cleverly coupled with the tense frozen background with the help of horizontal lines, contours, and elaborated shadows.
